DynaMatrix® is an extracellular matrix (ECM) derived from porcine small intestinal submucosa (4 layers SIS). ECM contains two of the three essential biological components required for healing: matrix scaffold & signals, which include growth factors and ECM cell receptor-mediated binding sites. It retains both the 3-dimensional structure and the signaling proteins found within the material that communicates with the body to help stimulate the natural healing process. The biologic material guides the patient’s soft tissue to form organized tissue, not scar tissue.

DynaMatrix™ Plus for soft tissue grafting
DynaMatrix® Plus is specifically designed for soft tissue grafting procedures. It is an extracellular matrix (ECM) derived from porcine small intestinal submucosa (8 layers SIS - twice the thickness of standard DynaMatrix). ECM contains two of the three essential biological components required for healing: matrix scaffold & signals, which include growth factors and ECM cell receptor-mediated binding sites. The biologic material guides the patient’s soft tissue to form organized tissue. It is a high-performing clinical alternative to connective tissue grafts, and eliminates the need to harvest tissue from the patient’s oral cavity.

At twice the thickness of standard DynaMatrix, DynaMatrix Plus has been engineered to generate tissue of increased depth for root coverage and tissue bulking procedures.

 

DynaMatrix Plus is a high-performing clinical alternative to connective tissue grafts, and eliminates the need to harvest tissue from the patient's oral cavity.

DynaMatrix® Plus features

Treating Gingival Recession & Gingival Augmentation with DynaMatrix® Plus.

1. Patient presentend with Miller's Class III recession.

2. Frenectomy was performed in conjunction with gingival augmentation procedure.

3. An intra-sulcular incision was made for full thickness flap reflection. Root surfaces were scaled and root planed.

4. DynaMatrix Plus was secured with continuous gut sling sutures.

5. Gingival tissue was coronally advanced to cover DynaMatrix Plus and secured with continuous vicryl sutures

6. Healing at 14 days post-op.

7. Healing at 3 months post-op. Root coverage achieved and additional attached keratinized tissue generated.

Once implanted, these components work together to stimulate the recruitment of the body’s cells, which in turn become the third component critical to healing. Derived from porcine small intestinal submucosa (SIS), DynaMatrix is a natural biomaterial that does not contain cells but does maintain a three-dimensional structure, which is important for tissue remodeling.

Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs)
Heparin and hyaluronic acid are two important GAGs. Heparin regulates the function of several growth factors and assists in angiogenesis following injury. Hyaluronic acid is thought to help regulate matrix density and inhibit scar formation during healing.

Growth factors
Small protein structures that control cell growth, differentiation and ECM deposition by the cells. Growth factors initiate wound healing, regulate blood vessel formation and maintain tissue homeostasis.
